America’s Boating Course
Offered by Mansfield Power Squadron
New to boating? Want to develop your boating skills? Want to learn boating safety? Whether you enjoy power boating, sailing, paddle sports, or personal watercraft this course is for you.
Now is the time to sign up for the America's Boating Course (ABC) which is offered this fall in two locations:
Tuesdays, September 12 – November 21, from 7-9 pm at Pioneer Career and Technology Center, 27 Ryan Road, Shelby, Ohio.
You may register by calling the Adult Education Department at 419-347-7744 by September 8.

Wednesdays, September 13 – November 15, from 6:30-8:30 pm at Madison Adult Career Center, 600 Esley Lane, Mansfield, OH.
Register by calling MACC at 419-589-6363 Ext. 65052 by September 8.
The class is taught by certified instructors of the Mansfield Power Squadron (MPS) and allows you to seek answers to your questions while gaining knowledge of boating and boating
safety. The course also meets the State of Ohio boating education requirement. Topics covered include:
-safety and safety equipment
-boating laws (state and federal)
-boat handling, rules of the road, navigation aids
-finding your way safely
-anchoring, docking, knots and lines
-trailering, boat maintenance
-communications
-how to handle emergencies and mechanical
problems and more
Take boating classes and reduce your risk of accidents and injuries, save on boat insurance, and qualify for a state boat operator certificate. Gain the knowledge and skills you need to enjoy
your time on the water and to boat with confidence. The Mansfield Power Squadron (MPS) is a local nonprofit, aligned with America's Boating Club/United States Power Squadron, in promoting
