Mansfield City Council Approves Street Lights on Route 30

Mansfield City Council has approved street lights to be installed on Route 30 between Wayne Street and Springmill Street. Councilman Cliff Mears said the total cost is $20,000 and the exact time table of when the new lights will be installed, is not yet known. Mears said there have been lots of complaints about how dark that stretch of roadway is and will make it much safer, especially with winter arriving now.

LAS VEGAS, NV - AUGUST 03: A waxing crescent moon is seen behind a streetlight with a newly-installed LED fixture August 3, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The city is replacing 6,600 existing lights with the new energy-efficient LEDs, which are expected to reduce the city's annual electricity use by eight million kilowatt hours, saving about USD 400,000. The city estimates the LEDs will last about 15 years, nine years longer than the current lights. Funding for the project comes from federal energy conservation bonds and an American Recovery & Reinvestment Act grant. The city plans to replace all of its 50,000 streetlights after more funding is secured. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
