Richland Area Chamber announces 2019 Economic Excellence Awards

The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce and RCDG has announced the following awardees for the 2019 Economic Excellence Awards, which will be handed out at the Annual Meeting & Dinner this month.

 

The Business Excellence Award will be given to Stoodt's Market & Main Street Market, Jason Potes, owner (given to a business that has experience strong growth, capital investment, product development, and civic involvement).

Distinguished Performance Awards will be given to Barbara Lindsay, President, Commercial Cutting & Graphics and Jay Allred, Publisher, Richland Source (given to someone who lives the RCDG mission to “improve the economic vitality of Richland County”, has demonstrated leadership, and aided in the growth of the local economy).

 

The Economic Impact Award will be given to Community Improvement Corporation of Shelby (given to a public sector or non-profit entity for their effort in supporting economic development in Richland County).

The Investing in our Future Award will be given to Dr. Dorey Diab, President & CEO, North Central State College (given to a person or program that has significantly contributed to preparing the workforce of the future).

Richland Young Professionals (RYP) have also chosen the following awardees for their portion of the program.

Jake Penwell, Penwell Turner Funeral Home will receive the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award (given to a local business that either started or reinvented itself in the last 24 months, led/owned by a young professional).

Jennifer Alt, OhioHealth will receive the Community Hero award (given to an individual, organization or business that is fully committed to serving the community thereby spurring economic growth and development).

The Chamber will also be announcing the Chairman’s Award recipient during the program.

Also as previously announced,  three local women have been selected as finalists for the 2019 ATHENA Award in Richland County.  The award, which is being sponsored by Richland Bank, will also be handed out at the dinner.  The ATHENA finalists for 2019 are Annamarie Fernyak (founder of Mind Body Align), Julie Kleshinski (Executive Director of the New Store) and Jodie A. Perry (President of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce).

The dinner will be held on Thursday, January 31st at the Kehoe Center in Shelby.
