Mansfield Post Investigates One Car Fatal Traffic Crash

The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 2:56 P.M. on August 17, 2019, Troopers responded to a crash on State Route 546 near mile post 8 in Troy Township.

A 2003 Ford F-250 was driven by Ronald Broeske, (62) of Bellville, Ohio. Mr. Broeske was traveling northbound on State Route 546 and failed to negotiate a curve, slid off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment which caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times. Mr. Broeske was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Broeske was pronounced deceased on scene by the Richland County Coroner, Bob Ball. Alcohol and Drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Troy Township Fire and EMS, the Lexington Police Department and Shelly and Sons Towing
