Los Angeles Premiere Of "Frank And Ava"

Academy Award-nominated actor Robert Forster passed away on Friday (October 11). He was 78.

According to Deadline, the actor, most famous for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s 1997 flick Jackie Brown, died in his Los Angeles home following a brief battle with brain cancer. His family and reps confirmed the news.

Forster’s acting acting career spans over 50 years, with his first big screen role in Reflections in a Golden Eye in 1967. In his lifetime, the performer appeared in over 100 films, including projects like Medium Cool, The Delta Force, Mulholland Drive, The Descendants, and Me, Myself & Irene. Though it was his portrayal as Max Cherry in Jackie Brown that would garner him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Forster’s untimely death broke on the same day as the premiere of his final film, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, in which he reprised his part as “disappearer” Ed Galebraith in the Netflix film. (He first portrayed the part during the fifteenth episode of Breaking Bad’s fifth season in 2013.)

Forster is survived by four children — Bobby, Elizabeth, Kate and Maeghen; four grandchildren — Tess, Liam, Jack and Olivia — and longtime partner, Denise Grayson.
