Ontario City Council Delayed in Appointment of New Members

There is a delay in the appointment of two new members to Ontario City Council due to one being a teacher and the other a fire fighter. Ohio revised code says members shall not hold any other public office or employment, which could make both invalid for the open seats.

RichlandSource.com reports the code doesn't state what constitutes public office or employment. The Central committee has reached out to the Richland County Prosecutor and Ohio Attorney General to get clarification on the matter. The hope is to have an answer with in the next week.
