Plans In The Works For New County Wide Digital Emergency Radio System

Plans are in the works for a new county wide digital emergency radio system in Richland County, which will increase the coverage area and allow departments to better communicate with each other. RichlandSource.com reports the Commissioners are waiting for approval from AEP to use it's tower north of Shelby, which will save the county $800,000. The counties current VHF system was installed in 1990.
