Darius Ruckerâs set mixed his latest music with classic throwbacks at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday night (September 17).
Rucker is one of the most recent additions to the star-studded festival lineup. Heâs is one of several artists to take the iHeartRadio Music Festival stage on Friday night, along with Walker Hayes, Cheap Trick, Dua Lipa, FINNEAS, J. Cole, Weezer, Nelly and special guests Florida Georgia Line.
Of course, Ruckerâs Friday night set wouldnât be complete without the only B.S. anyone needs: âBeers And Sunshine,â the feel-good summer anthem he released last year. ââŠI donât know how we fix any of these big, real issues that weâre facing, but while we work through this time, I think itâs important that we find the silver lining where we can really enjoy the little moments and the simple joys of time spent together with friends and family,â Rucker said in a press release last year, introducing the song.
The âBeers And Sunshineâ singer also included summer song in set list when he hosted his 12th Annual âDarius and Friendsâ Concert benefitting St. Jude Childrenâs Hospital. The fundraiser happened at Nashvilleâs historic Ryman Auditorium last month. The night included performances by Brothers Osborne, Elvie Shane, John Daly, Keb Mo, Jason Aldean and Runaway June, in addition to the headliner himself.
Other fan-favorite songs in the lineup included ones that he performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival: âCome Back Song,â the Hootie & The Blowfish track âHold My Hand,â and others, according to the highlight reel Rucker shared on Instagram. Friday nightâs set included two Hootie & The Blowfish throwbacks: âOnly Wanna Be With Youâ and âHold My Hand.â Ruckerâs finale was a surefire sing-along, his 2013 track âWagon Wheel.â
If you missed any of the action this weekend, you can relive the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival by tuning in to The CW Network on Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd from 8-10pm ET/PT for a two-night television special.
