The Metrich Drug Task force recently received an annual state grant of $166,000, which is $83,000 dollars less, than what the organization normally gets, per year, for the 10 county region.

Mansfield Police Chief Keith Porch, who oversees the task force, said, $250,000 is what they had been receiving, but the only received $118,000 last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The money comes from the Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund, which saw fewer citations over the past two years with less people on the roads. The fund gets $3.50 per traffic violation - that is issued from law enforcement agencies.

Porch says that money helps fund the drug detectives for the area.
