LISTEN - New Miss Ohio And Her Mom, Miss Illinois 1992, Visit iHeart Radio

Elizabetta Nies was crowned the new Miss Ohio on Saturday and she spent Wednesday morning visiting and chatting with WMAN and iHeart Radio. Her mother, who was Miss Illinois 1992, joined her in the studio to talk about the Miss America pageant runs in the family, as Elizabetta's aunt's were Miss Florida and Miss New York.

Elizabetta Nies, from the Cincinnati area, celebrated her 19th birthday on Saturday and the same evening was named Miss Ohio, according to RichlandSource.com.

Nies now becomes the 4th member of her family to represent the Miss America organization, as her mom was Miss Illinois in 1992 and her aunts represented Florida and New York in 1984 and 1985.

Nies has earned more than $11,000 in scholarships and is enrolled at Davis College for communications and business marketing. Elizabetta wants to become a motivational speaker and is a trained classical pianist, which saw her start to learn the piano at the age of 4.
