Kate Middleton is commemorating World Cancer Day with a powerful new photo weeks after she revealed she was in "remission" from her own health battle.

On Monday (February 3), the Princess of Wales shared a new photo on social media taken by her and Prince William's 6-year-old son Prince Louis of Middleton standing in the middle of the woods in Windsor, smiling with her arms stretched out to the side, per People. She accompanied the photo with an inspirational message reading, "Don't forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease," written atop a close-up photo of branches taken by Middleton.

Middleton echoed the sentiment in the post's caption, adding the hashtag #WorldCancerDay and revealing that the pic was snapped by her and the Prince of Wales' youngest son. According to People, the new photo comes on the eve of World Cancer Day, which is recognized internationally on February 4.

The commemorative post holds a more personal meaning to Middleton this year as she fought through her own cancer journey throughout 2024. In March, the royal shared her surprise diagnosis and stepped away from royal duties as she underwent preventative chemotherapy.

Following news that her cancer is in remission, Middleton is believed to be "gradually" returning to royal duties, including an initiative aimed at enhancing "the wellbeing of young children and their caregivers."
