Nick Jonas experienced an embarrassing wardroom malfunction during a rehearsal for Broadway musical The Last Five Years on Tuesday (March 4) and decided to share the situation with fans.
The "Jealous" hitmaker let Instagram followers in on the behind-the-scenes mishap in a hilarious video, revealing that he split his cargo pants while doing a run-through with co-star Adrienne Warren.
"I was singing 'Moving Too Fast,' one of my character Jamie’s songs. I’m supposed to jump onto this platform and then pull my co-star, Adrienne Warren, up onto the platform with me and keep singing. I do it, and I hear a [ripping sound]. And I’m like, ‘Oh no, oh no.’ Then I feel a cool breeze in a place you don’t want to feel a cool breeze. This is what happened to my pants. They’re not tight pants by any means. It just was the perfect spot and the position that I jumped up."
Jonas held up the pants to reveal a giant rip in the center that extended "the whole way down." The tattered garment looked to be held together with safety pins. Director Whitney White and composer Jason Robert Brown were just two of the many cast and crew who witnessed the funny event.
"I tried to duct tape it, it didn’t work… I tried to put some safety pins in, didn’t hold," Jonas remarked assuring he did finish the rehearsal in bottoms because the kind stage crew ran to Target to get him a pair of shorts.
Fans can look forward to seeing the Jonas Brothers star in the Broadway debut of The Last Five Years on March 18, per Billboard.
