The Madison Township Fire Department is reporting that an 80 year old female was transported to the hospital with severe burns on Thursday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched for a barn/outbuilding fire at 12:40 pm on Poth road.
All Madison personnel at the time were already out on calls, so Mansfield and Springfield Township units were dispatched to help.
The woman was located laying on the ground in the backyard with severe burn injuries. She was transported to the hospital in Mansfield, then flown by helicopter to Columbus.
A garage in the back of the residence was fully involved in a fire. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
