Heartbreaker: Lexington Falls in Softball State Semi-Final to Kenton Ridge

The Lexington softball team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday, as Kenton Ridge scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to beat the Minutemen, 4-3, in the Division IV State Semi-Final in Akron.

The Cougars got 2 runs in the final inning on a walk off 2- run single by Jayden Davis, which pushes them into Thursday Division IV State Championship game.

Kenton Ridge improves to 31-0, while Lexington got 7 strikeouts from Makaree Chapman, who also had 2 triples in the game and ends an incredible season at 24-4. Lex, who led 3-2 entering the final inning, was playing at the state tournament in softball for the 1st time since 2002.
