Richland County athletes brought home several state championships on Saturday at the OHSAA Track and Field State meet in at Ohio State University in Columbus.
RichlandSource.com reports, on the girls side in Division II - Shelby's Madison Henkel won the state championship in the long jump, while the Ontario girls 4x400 relay team of Arialyn Bischak, Tessa Crum, Sasha Bulakovski and Audrey Mahon won the first ever girls relay state championship in Ontario school history.
Also, Latrell Hughes of Lexington won the state title in the 800 meters, as he was a part of the Lexington boys team that finished runner up for the team title in Division I, and captured the state championship on Friday in the 4x800 relay.
