August Meeting: Richland County Foundation Approves $1.8 Million in Grants

MANSFIELD – The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees approved $1,835,608 in grants during its August meeting. A large portion of the grants were for educational purposes.

The board approved $901,400 in college scholarships to 326 Richland County students. Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s financial need and grade point average. The average scholarship amount this year was $2,765.

RCF awarded 21 career technical education scholarships. So far this year, the board has approved $87,748 in CTE scholarships.

The board approved close to $67,000 in education grants to K-12 teachers in public or private Richland County Schools to encourage them to develop new programs for their classrooms. Funding was provided from the unrestricted grant budget as well as field of interest funds. Education grants are selected by a committee made up of board members and people from the community for creative and innovative supplemental programs not covered by school funding.

Friends of the Ashbrook Center

Idea Works

Mansfield Community Playhouse

Mansfield Rotary Club Foundation

Ohio State University

Renaissance Performing Arts

Richland Pregnancy Services

St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Visual Bucket List Foundation
