Cleveland Guardians Open 2026 in Seattle, Home Opener, April 3 vs Cubs

Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced the club’s 2026 season schedule, its 126th year as a charter member of the American League and the 33rd season of calling Progressive Field the home of Cleveland Guardians baseball.

 

The Guardians open the 2026 season with a 7-game road trip, opening with a 4-game set at Seattle (March 26-29) before traveling south to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 3-game series (March 30-April 1).

 

Cleveland’s Home Opener will take place on Friday, April 3 against the Chicago Cubs, marking just the second time in franchise history that the club will host a National League team for its Home Opener, joining April 15, 2022 when the Guardians opened against San Francisco due to a postponed start to the season. The Guardians first homestand consists of two 3-game sets against Chicago-NL (April 3-5) and Kansas City (April 6-8).

 

The 2025 season will feature eight summer weekends at Progressive Field:

  • May 29-May 31 vs. Boston
  • June 12-14 vs. Detroit
  • June 26-28 vs. Seattle
  • July 2-5 vs. Chicago-AL
  • July 17-19 vs. Pittsburgh
  • July 31-August 2 vs. Arizona
  • August 14-16 vs. San Diego
  • August 28-30 vs. Kansas City

 

The Guardians will play host to eight Interleague opponents in 2026, including the Chicago Cubs (April 3-5), Cincinnati Reds (May 15-17), Washington Nationals (May 25-27), Pittsburgh Pirates (July 17-19), Arizona Diamondbacks (July 31-August 2), New York Mets (August 4-6), San Diego Padres (August 14-16) and San Francisco Giants (August 18-20).
