On November 4, 2025 at 3:24 PM Deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the Lykens, Liberty and Chatfield Volunteer Fire Departments along with Life First Ambulance responded to a two vehicle unknown injury crash near the intersection SR 4 and Brokensword Road.
Upon Deputies arrival they discovered that sixty year old Ronnie Huff from Willard, Ohio was driving a white 1991 Chevrolet Silverado hauling a trailer on Brokensword Road traveling East. Sixty one year old Michellle D. Nickler was driving her tan 2010 Toyota Tacoma Northbound on SR 4. After the collision both vehicles travelled Northeast off the road where a utility pole was stuck and sheared off with telephone and power lines down on the roadway. Mr. Huff was pronounced deceased on scene and Mrs. Nickler had to be mechanically extracted from her vehicle and she was later flown to Columbus, Ohio due to her injuries. ODOT was called to assist and diverted traffic North and South of the crash scene and AEP was also on scene along with the Crawford County Coroner Dr. Christopher Johnson. Carl’s and Knect’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
