One Win From State: TYgers Defeat Alliance, Advance to Regional Final

The Mansfield Senior boys basketball team is one win away from the state final four. The TYgers beat Alliance, 65-61, on Wednesday night at Savage Arena on the campus of the University of Toledo.

Four TYgers scored in double figures, led by sophomore Kaylen Brooks with 19 points, Andrew Brooks had 15 points, Rashad Reed with 11 and Davion Mack added 10 points.

DJ Corbin scored 8 points and pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds. Corbin connected on a free throw with :07 seconds to extend Senior High's lead to two possession and 4 points.

Mansfield Senior fell behind 17-13 after the 1st quarter, but it was the 2nd quarter where the game changed, as the TYgers outscored the Aviators, 16-4, and DJ Corbin played a big role scoring 7 points.

Senior High (19-7) will play Toledo Central Catholic on Saturday at 2 pm in the Division Regional Championship game at the University of Toledo. It's the first time since 2014 that Mansfield Senior is playing in the Regional Final. The last time that the TYgers won the Regional title was in 2005.
