Demi Lovato is being treated for “complications” following her drug overdose one week ago. A source close to Lovato tells TMZ that the singer is suffering extreme nausea and a high fever, among other things, and is “under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery." Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital last week, after being discovered unconscious at her home. While it’s unclear what drugs Lovato was using, it’s believed it was some sort of opiod.
Lovato’s backup dancer and friend Dani Vitale says the singer’s friends shouldn’t be blamed for her overdose. “I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you,” Vitale wrote on Instagram Sunday. “There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time. There is too much of it in this world as it is.”
