Netflix announced Tuesday that season two of Making a Murderer will begin streaming on October 19. The new season will consist of 10 episodes detailing the “high-stakes post-conviction process” in the cases of Steven Avery, a Wisconsin man who in 2007 was convicted of killing a 25-year-old woman, and his nephew Brendan Dassey. As The New York Times notes, the show’s first season led to highly publicized legal attempts to fight the convictions of Avery and Dassey. While courts have gone back and forth about the case, the pair remain in prison.
