Netflix Shares 1st Trailer for “Knock Down the House” Political Doc

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the focus of the first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming Knock the House Down documentary. Released on Monday, the teaser opens with the 29-year-old politician gearing up to challenge 10-term incumbent Congressman Joe Crowley in the 2018 New York midterm election. “If I was a rational person, I would have dropped out of this race a long time ago,” she admits. Later, Ocasio-Cortez outlines the strategy of her opposition, noting, “He’s gonna tell me I’m small, that I’m young, that I’m inexperienced.” The film also follows three other inspiring women who challenged history in the midterms, despite not winning their races: Amy Vilela (Nevada), Cori Bush (Missouri) and Paula Jean Swearengin (West Virginia). It premieres on the streaming service May 1.
