After turning heads on the red carpet with a flowing, pastel-colored J. Mendel dress, Taylor Swift entertained the audience at the TIME100 gala with a mini-set featuring some of her biggest hits. She strapped on an acoustic guitar for "Style" and "Delicate," turned to the piano for “Love Story” and “New Year’s Day,” and closed with a brisk, guitar-driven take on “Shake It Off.” During her performance, Swift expressed her gratitude for the performance opportunity. “Hi, I'm Taylor...I’m so completely honored to get to perform for this incredible group of people," she said. "I’m honored to be with you while you’re honored. I hope you guys have the best night ever and just keep doing what you’re doing, because I appreciate you so much, and I’m so happy to be in this room with you.”
There's still no word yet on what exactly Taylor Swift is releasing on April 26, but Hits Daily Double has learned that it appears to be a new single, as the musician's label, Republic, has played snippets of the song for radio brass. However, the privilege of a listen comes with rather strict conditions. "The programmers must listen to the track on headphones via a device that never leaves the possession of the label team," the publication noted. "The programmers must sign an NDA enjoining them not only not to discuss the content of the song but to deny its very existence."
