The L.A. Landmark Meltdown Comics Is Closing After 25 Years

The LA landmark that has called Sunset Boulevard it's home for almost 25 years has announced that it will be closing it's doors for good April 1st. Though the closing date is April Fools Day, it's not likely this is a prank.

The comic shop opened it's doors October 26, 1993 and has served many comic-loving fans and was also the birthplace of many comedy shows which included The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail.

In a letter posted by Nerdist, the owner-founder Gaston Dominguez-Letelier said, “No business is easy, least of all one rooted in paper surrounded by brick and mortar, yet against all odds we survived just long enough to host, share, and celebrate some of the most creative and imaginative artists in the world. It has been my personal privilege to welcome so many incredibly talented minds through our doors giving them and their work a home in this great city of ours.”

We're all upset about the closing, but can only hope the owners and the workers the best. Thank you for the memories!
