An Oregon woman’s dog saves her when a bear attacks her in her backyard. A woman was in the backyard of her home in West Medford when she was attacked by a bear. The bear rushed her, injuring her left arm and left leg, fortunately, her dog intervened and together they chased the bear off. Luckily, neither the woman nor the dog were seriously injured.
The woman’s description of the bear led officials to believe it was a 150 to 200 pound black bear. After the attack, the bear ran out of the yard and was struck by a vehicle on a nearby road before disappearing. Oregon State Police Troopers and the Fish and Game Division searched for the bear, but never found it, although there were several other reports of bear sightings in the area that night.
